Tobias Kaspar (*1984) is a conceptual artist. In the early 2010s, Kaspar began receiving institutional recognition within the context of post-appropriation and institutional critique art.
Tobias Kaspar staged solo exhibitions at amongst other Midway Contemporary Art in Minneapolis, Kunsthalle Bern, MadeIn Art Museum in Shanghai, Foundry Seoul, MAMCO Musée d'Art Contemporain Genève, Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Artists Space in New York and participated in group shows at Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin, Wattis Institute in San Francisco, and CAFAM in Beijing, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Roma. Notable gallery solo exhibitions include VI VII in Oslo, Jenny's in Los Angeles, Alex Zachary in New York, Silberkuppe in Berlin, Marcelle Alix in Paris, Galerie Peter Kilchmann in Zurich, Galerie Urs Meile in Beijing, Galerie Lars Friedrich in Berlin, and Temnikova & Kasela in Tallinn. Kaspar's work has been prominently featured in leading art publications like Artforum, Frieze, Texte zur Kunst, Mousse, and Flash Art, as well as in renowned lifestyle magazines such as Vogue Italia, Vogue US, and Harper’s Bazaar South Korea.
In 2009, Tobias Kaspar initiated the founding of PROVENCE, a magazine, publishing house, and agency for art, which has since evolved into a collectively run entity.
